Criminon Maine: Reducing the Disadvantage for Those Incarcerated Through Life-Skills Education

Criminon Maine has been working tirelessly for over twenty-five years to bring effective education and life skills to those incarcerated from Maine, to Rhode Island and Michigan.

This is what recent graduates from Rhode Island had to say of their Criminon Courses:

Understanding and Overcoming Addiction Course

“I’ve done a couple of these courses and they all help me in different ways but this course really hit close to home for me because I struggled with addiction for many years. In this course I learned how to cope with withdrawals and how to recognize that you have an addiction problem. I know now how to take steps before you walk to recovery and also to help my friends and family that are going through it. Thank you Criminon Program, the volunteers and to Alex who help me understand every lesson. I really appreciate it cause in the prison I’m at there is not many programs to help better yourself and it also like a 2 year wait for each program so for someone like me who is trying to be a better person, father, and friend I want to use the time I’m doing to learn. When I get out I don’t want to look at the time I served as a waste, I want to look back and say, “Yes I made a lot of mistakes, but I’ve learned from it and today I’m a better person because of it.” Again, thank you everyone at Criminon Program, You inspire me to want to do some volunteer work when I get out. This program has helped me in so many ways mentally, spiritually and physically. Thank you for believing in me.”

Changing Conditions of Life Course

“I think this course can help with anything you do in life. Starting a job to starting a business. Statistics are the single most important thing and they need to be kept accurate and up to date so you can apply the correct formula, otherwise things will eventually go bad.”

How to Deal With Ups & Downs in Life Course

And this is what a graduate from Michigan had to say to describe their success:

“I use it daily without thought to help myself and others.”

“This course was very difficult for me because it forced me to handle some people who have been in my life for decades. But the information that was placed before me in this course forced me to cut relations with all of the anti-socials in my life. It also gave me the tools needed to handle the few that I’m forced to deal with. If you desire to apply all that you learned in “The Way to Happiness Course” and try to apply it, you’ll do yourself good to take this course. Because the pathway to happiness is harder when you don’t know about “Handling Suppression.” Thank you for making this course available to me. I use it daily without thought to help myself and others.”
